The DBYHL philosophy is to provide the opportunity for every child, regardless of skill level, to play ice hockey. The DBYHL offers instructional, recreational and travel programs. Our programs stress fundamentals, skill development and sportsmanship.

Congratulations Bomber Midgets!

The Dayton Bomber Midgets are the 2012 Sycamore JV Fire on Ice Tournament
Champions. The Bombers swept the 6 team tournament in Cincinnati. They won
their first game against St. Xavier JV with a final score of 4-3 in an 11
player shoot-out with the winning goal being scored by Justin LeBeau. The
second game was against Louisville Trinity JV where the Bombers tied the
score with an amazing buzzer beater goal by Chance Conley in the third
period and won in the shoot-out with an unanswered goal by Joey Mack making
the final score 2-1. The third and final games were decisive victories over
Elder JV and Sycamore JV respectively with scores of 10-0 and 7-1. Solid net
minding by Greg Miller and strong, consistent performance by the entire team
in all four games made this success possible. Congratulations Bomber Midgets!

Learn to Play Hockey
Do you have a child that would love to try hockey, but you're not sure about how to go about it? Well, the Instructional Program is just for you and your child! The IP (Instructional Program) is for players that are between 4 and 10 yrs old. This is a beginners hockey program emphasizing the USA Hockey ADM skill development model, which utilizes cross ice games and coaching techniques. The emphasis is placed on skill development -- skating, stick handling, passing and shooting. Most 7- to 10-year olds will out grow this program quickly and move on to Mite or Squirt house teams as space permits. Players practice once per week, and are encouraged to take skating lessons through the Kettering Rec or attend open skates. The last session runs Mondays, March 5 - April 9 at 6:10 p.m. at the Kettering Recreation Ice Rink.
Dayton Gems & the DBYHL
For the second year in a row, the Dayton Gems professional hockey team will be partnering with the Dayton Bombers Youth Hockey League to grow hockey in the Dayton area. Gems players will be lending their expertise at DBYHL practices and promotional events (when there are no game conflicts, of course). The Gems are also offering discounted tickets to Bomber families throughout the season. Click here for more details on Bombers Nights with the Dayton Gems.
