DBYHL Philosophy The DBYHL philosophy is to provide the opportunity for every child, regardless of skill level, to play ice hockey. The DBYHL offers instruction, recreation and competitive programs. The program stresses fundamentals, skill development and sportsmanship. Every player in the DBYHL is assured equitable ice time. The DBYHL wants every player and his or her family to have an enjoyable hockey experience.TRYOUTS DBYHL is forming a SQUIRT A (9-10 ) Travel team. Tryouts are Sat., July 31 at 2:30 p.m. at South Metro in Centerville. Cost for tryout is $15/per player, payment to be made prior to getting on the Ice. 18 game home schedule, about 12-18 away games, most within 1-2 hour drive, and 1-2 tournaments. ATTENTION BANTAM AGE HOCKEY PLAYERS (1996 & 1997 birth years) DBYHL is forming an independent rec/house Bantam team for the 2010-11 hockey season. Players of all skill levels, novice to travel, are welcome, especially goalies. The team will play a minimum 28 game schedule, plus any tournaments the team decides to attend. There will be at least one practice per week, some weeks will include two. This team is geared to improving skills and having fun – a great opportunity for all Bantam players. FALL/WINTER SEASON Important dates for house:KRC hockey fun night is Sept. 8 Hockey 101 (two-day intro-to-hockey program) is Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 at 6:10 p.m. Mite clinics are Sept. 20, 26 and 27 Squirt clinics are Sept. 21, 26 and 28 Pee Wee skates Sep. 21 and 26 Bantam and Midgets start Sept. 29 Mite, Squirt & Pee Wee practices start the week of Oct. 4 IP (instructional program for 4- to 6-year olds) starts Monday, Oct. 11 at 6:10 p.m.
